Our background

Since 1962, our organization has operated as a non-profit organization under the Centre de Psycho-Éducation du Québec (CPEQ). In the fall of 2023, CPEQ integrated the dissemination activities of the Encyclopedia on Early Childhood Development of the Centre of Excellence for Early Childhood Development (CEECD) to become Abilio – Childhood Knowledge Dissemination Centre.

With its renewed offer of knowledge transfer activities, and the territory it is targeting, Abilio is pursuing CPEQ’s mission to improve the well-being of children, as early as possible, by supporting the professionals who care for them and their families.

Through professional training, consulting services, and dissemination activities, Abilio provides access to science-based programs, resources, and expertise to support informed decision making in service delivery.

Affiliated with the Université de Montréal’s Groupe de Recherche sur l’Inadaptation Psychosociale chez l’enfant (GRIP), Abilio collaborates with various research teams and partners in the field, and acts as a leader in the prevention of violence and school dropout.
